Our EOR Austria services
from offer to first payslip.
Once you pick a candidate, we place the role in the right Kollektivvertrag (collective agreement) grade, draft the contract, report the hire to the ÖGK through ELDA ahead of the start date, record leave and hours in the portal and pay the first salary, with every deduction worked out.

What does one provider handle for your hire?
A set monthly fee in euros, added to salary and statutory charges and quoted before anyone signs.
Twelve monthly salaries plus a holiday bonus and a Christmas bonus each year.
The date by which last month’s wage tax and ÖGK contributions reach the authorities.
The same person answers on pay, leave and leavers for all your staff.
How do you follow Austrian employment law from another country?
Most Austrian employment terms sit in collective agreements and statutes you will not meet elsewhere. We apply them for you while you manage the team remotely.
- Probation of one month at most
- Leave of 25 working days plus 13 public holidays in 2026
- Sick pay of 6 to 12 weeks in full, then 4 at half pay
- Changed terms confirmed in writing by the day they apply
- AMS notified 30 days ahead of mass dismissals
- Final pay, ELDA de-registration, L16
Employer notice in Austria runs to a quarter-end: 31 March, 30 June, 30 September or 31 December, unless the contract allows the 15th or last day of a month. Six weeks’ notice handed over on 20 February therefore ends on 30 June, not in early April. Where a works council exists, it must hear of the dismissal first and has one week to respond; notice given before then is void.
What moves Austrian payroll during a year?
Austrian payroll is recalculated each month, not set once a year. Lohnsteuer (wage tax) annualises each month’s taxable pay, so a rise changes withholding straight away. The holiday and Christmas bonuses carry their own tax, mostly 6%, within the Jahressechstel (annual sixth). Contributions stop at €6,930 a month in 2026, rising to €7,410 in 2027.
- The mBGM contribution return goes through ELDA by the 15th
- No employee unemployment contribution on monthly pay up to €2,225 in 2026
- Special payments capped at €13,860 a year in 2026
- IT salaries up 2.75% by 1 July 2026 under the agreement
- Vienna’s €2 weekly levy dropped for staff aged 55 or over

What extras do candidates in Austria expect?
Candidates compare offers on the annual gross across 14 payments, and the statutory floor is already generous: five weeks’ leave, sick pay at full salary for at least six weeks, and an employer-paid severance fund. Extras sit on top, each with its own tax treatment. A Telearbeit (telework) allowance, for instance, carries no tax up to €3 per day, capped at 100 days. We set each extra up in payroll so the payslip shows the right deductions.
- Telework allowance up to €300
- Severance fund at 1.53% from month two
- Paid care leave of one week a year
- €496 Verkehrsabsetzbetrag credit applied
- Familienbonus Plus per child under 18

Who is responsible for which part?
Your candidate becomes our employee under an Austrian contract, graded under the collective agreement that fits the role. We sign the Dienstvertrag (employment contract).
Tasks, targets and hours are yours to set within the law, as are pay rises and promotions.
Payroll, ELDA filings, wage tax, DB, DZ, Kommunalsteuer, leave records and the annual L16 sit with our payroll team.
Non-competes catch many foreign employers out. A Konkurrenzklausel is void when the last monthly pay is €4,620 gross or less in 2026. It can last one year at most and falls away when the employer gives notice, unless the employee gave serious cause. We flag the threshold at offer stage, before anything is signed.
How does our fee compare in 2026?
We charge from €599 per employee per month: above Deel’s list price, below Remote, Oyster and Papaya Global’s European rate. For it you get payroll set up for 14 salaries, a full-year cost before signing and one named contact.

Fees as listed on each provider’s public pricing page on 4 October 2026, per employee per month. At the ECB reference rate of 1 EUR = 1.1225 USD (2 October 2026), our €599 is about $672: above Deel’s $599, below Remote and Oyster at $699 and below Papaya Global’s €650 for Europe (about $730). RemoFirst’s from $199 varies by country and shows no Austria figure. Native Teams gives no Austria-specific rate. A dash means the pricing page does not say. Prices can change without notice.
