Best EOR Provider
in Austria: how to choose
Three tests separate a provider that knows Austria from one that only lists it. Ask how it prices the 13th and 14th salaries and the 6% tax most employees pay on them. Ask which Kollektivvertrag (collective agreement) your role falls under and what its 2026 minimum is. Ask when six weeks’ notice given today would end, since employer notice normally runs to a quarter day. The sections below turn those tests into a checklist and set our fee beside published prices.

Which employer duties do we take over?
Each item is a legal duty of an employer in Austria, and we carry each one from the day your hire signs.
- Reporting the hire to the ÖGK through ELDA so the registration is in place before work begins
- A Dienstzettel (statement of terms) with probation, notice procedure, overtime pay and severance fund
- Pay at or above the collective agreement minimum, 14 times a year
- Wage tax, DB and DZ to the tax office and Kommunalsteuer to the municipality by the 15th
- A monthly mBGM contribution return, sent electronically through ELDA
- 1.53% of all pay to a Betriebliche Vorsorgekasse (severance fund) from month two
- Each employee’s annual Lohnzettel (L16) by the end of February
- Leave, sick pay and care leave paid on the statutory scales

A named person, not a queue.
When an employee falls ill on payroll day or resigns at month end, you speak to the person who already knows the file. They check the sick-pay scale or the notice date, work out the effect on that month’s payslip and tell you what changes.
What should you ask any EOR in Austria?
Take these eight questions into a sales call. Vague answers tell you as much as good ones.
Compliance ownership
Who files the mBGM and pays wage tax by the 15th, and who replies if the ÖGK or the tax office queries a month?
Payroll precision
How do you tax the 13th and 14th salaries within the annual sixth, and how does a pay rise in the middle of the year change the withholding?
Employer risk
Who pays the surcharge if a hire is found unregistered, which in 2026 comes to €1,000 per person?
Data handling
Where are payslips, contracts and ID documents stored, who can open them, and how long are they kept after someone leaves?
Collective agreements
Which collective agreement covers this role, what is its 2026 minimum for the grade, and how many normal hours a week does it set?
Start-date honesty
What is the earliest realistic start date once the candidate’s notice ends, and what if a work permit is still pending?
Predictable cost
Will the quote list salary, social security, DB, DZ, Kommunalsteuer and the fee as separate lines for a full year?
Documentation
Does the statement of terms carry every item required since 28 March 2024, and how soon after the start does the employee get it?
