Our background
Your hires in Austria,
employed by us and led by you
About EOR Austria in brief: we are an employer of record for one country. People you choose are employed by us on Austrian contracts; we run their payroll, report to the ÖGK and the tax office and keep leave records, while their daily work stays with you.
A business hiring its first person in Austria would normally need a GmbH, €10,000 of share capital, a tax number and ELDA access before a single payslip. We remove that set-up so the first hire can begin.
Our story
Why Austria?
Austrian pay rests on more than 800 collective agreements, 14 salaries a year and a monthly filing cycle split between the ÖGK, the tax office and each municipality. A foreign business meeting all of that for one or two hires faces the work of a full company for a very small team.
So we built a service around this one country: one set of rules, one payroll calendar, and people who work with Austrian contracts every month.

Principles
What guides our work?
Six principles shape how we look after people we employ for clients, and how we deal with the clients themselves.
Clear about who employs
Your hire signs an Austrian contract with us. You direct the work; we carry the employer’s duties.
A single contact
A named person runs your account and knows each employee’s grade, leave balance and notice terms.
Humans who answer
Questions reach someone who knows your file, through the portal, email or a video call, and a person answers rather than an automated reply.
Complete paperwork
Every Dienstzettel carries the items required since 28 March 2024, and every hire is registered before work starts.
Room to grow or stop
Add a second hire when the first works out, or end an employment by following Austrian notice rules, with no company to wind up.
Pricing you can read
Our fee and each statutory charge appear on separate lines, so every euro can be traced.
Your support
Who handles your staff?
A small team handles each account, so the people dealing with your staff already know their contracts and pay.
Account manager
A named manager stays with your account from the first hire, so your history never has to be retold.
Payroll, tax, ÖGK
Monthly payroll: the mBGM and contributions go to the ÖGK through ELDA, the tax office receives wage tax, DB and DZ, and the municipality its Kommunalsteuer.
Employee questions
Sick days, leave requests, contract changes and staff queries, dealt with under Austrian law.
Hiring paperwork
A Dienstzettel with the details required since March 2024 and ELDA registration with the ÖGK before day one, all ready before your new hire starts.
Coverage
Where in Austria can your hires work?
Employees can live and work anywhere in Austria, including from home under a written telework agreement. Levies follow the workplace: Kommunalsteuer goes to its municipality, the DZ rate varies by province between 0.31% and 0.40%, and Vienna adds €2 a week.
Vienna, Lower and Upper Austria, Styria, Tyrol, Carinthia, Salzburg, Vorarlberg, Burgenland
