Contact EOR Austria: what do you need to know first?

Questions about hiring in Austria rarely have a one-line answer. A developer’s minimum pay depends on the grade in the IT collective agreement, which starts at €3,267 a month for a skilled professional in 2026. A Vienna workplace adds a €2 weekly levy that other towns do not charge. Notice given in February may not end until 30 June. Tell us the role and town; we answer for it.

Why employ through us rather than set up in Austria?

You need no GmbH of your own. We sign the employment contract, declare the hire to the ÖGK and file with the tax office. You still recruit and select the candidate, and you lead the daily work.

Sized for small teams

One to a handful of employees in Austria rarely justifies a company with €10,000 of share capital, its own payroll and an audit every three to five years. Through us, those people stay on Austrian contracts for as long as you need them.

Your cost, in two parts

You pay the salary and the employer’s statutory charges at cost. On top sits a service fee starting from €599 per employee per month. In 2026 the employer’s social security share alone is 20.98% of regular pay, before payroll levies. In Vienna, €60,000 of gross salary means an employer cost near €77,805 a year, excluding our fee. Your quote shows every line first.

Rules we apply

We grade each role under the applicable Kollektivvertrag (collective agreement) and pay at least its minimum in 14 instalments. Special payments get their own tax treatment within the annual sixth. ELDA registration happens before day one, the mBGM return goes in monthly, and each Lohnzettel (L16) is filed before February ends. In Vienna we also pay the Dienstgeberabgabe of €2 per employee per week.

What you can ask

Ask what a role will cost for a full year, which collective agreement applies, how long probation and notice run, whether a non-compete would hold at the salary offered, or what a candidate from outside the EU and EEA needs. We answer with 2026 figures for your case.

One contact, every month

The person who prices your first hire stays on your account afterwards. They see each payroll, each leave request and each change, so you never have to explain your team twice.

Set up per person

No two payslips are set up alike. Monthly pay up to €2,225 carries no employee unemployment contribution in 2026. Staff aged 55 or over are exempt from the Vienna levy. Leave rises to 30 working days after 25 years’ service, and parents may claim Familienbonus Plus of €2,000.16 per child under 18. We set each record up to match the person.

What is working with us like?

  • You agree pay and start date with the candidate; we draft the Austrian contract
  • Hours, leave and pay changes are approved by you in the portal
  • Payslips and filings run monthly after your approval
  • Questions go to one named person

Your HR function, without hiring one

Do you need an HR department in Austria?

A global platform can tell you that Austria has collective agreements. It helps less when you need to know whether six weeks’ notice given on 20 February ends on 31 March or 30 June, or whether a works council must hear of a dismissal first. We answer those.

Your managers deal with one named contact, and your employees can bring leave, pay and sick-day questions to the same person instead of to you.

  • Contract and notice questions answered
  • Staff queries on pay and leave handled for you

Who will you hire first?

Your candidate can be employed on an Austrian contract without a company of your own in the country.

Tell us who you want to hire, at what salary, from when and where. You get back a year’s cost on 2026 rates, and a draft contract once you say yes.
